Newsflash:
Club Run on Sunday 21st June Tain Gala Association Rally We have again decided to support the Tain Gala Association and take a club stand at their Vintage Car Rally. There wil be a wide selection of vehicle displays alongside other attractions including craft stands, auto-jumble stalls, static engine displays etc. As we did last year, we will probably take a scenic route to Tain, trying to avoid the A9 as far as possible We propose to meet at the PC World car park on Telford street in Inverness at 09.00 am for a 09.30 departure. There will be no route maps for this run but the plan is to head out around the Beauly Firth through Beauly, Muir of Ord, Maryburgh, Dingwall then up over the Struie on the B9176. At the end of the road turn right onto the A836 and follow the road to the Dornoch Firth bridge roundabout, where we will take the A9 south turn-off towards Tain. After half a mile or so just after the Glenmorangie Field on the left turn left into Morangie Road and follow the signs for the show. The venue has changed from last year and directions to the new site have not been widely broadcast. - Watch this space and the club Newsletter for further details. The above club event is not planned as any form of time trial, race or competition, but only as a social outing of like-minded enthusiasts. Please observe speed limits and if travelling together, leave plenty of space between you and the car in front to allow faster traffic to overtake. Likewise, if you are causing a build up of traffic behind you, please pull over to allow queues to clear. It is important that we show consideration to other road users. It is your responsibility to ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy, insured, licensed, MOT’d and has all the relevant documentation.. Club Run on Sunday 11th & 12th July Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis Castle Organized by the Strathmore Vintage Vehicle Society this eventb is being held in the beautifuly landscape gardens of Glamis Castle. It is expected that hundreds of classic and vintage cars and other vehicles will take part among the numerous displays, craft tents, hobby stalls, art and antiques stands etc. We will be joining up with other Scottish MG Owners clubs to form one big stand. Glamis castle was the childhood home of the late Queen Mother and the building date back to the 11th century. Duncans hall at the castle is the legenday setting for William Shakespeare's classic, MacBeth Members wishing to take part should have their entries in by 18th May by contacting our club Secretary Colin whose contact details can be found on the newsletter. The entry fee is £3.00 and he will need to know the make and model and registration number of your car. September The Edinburgh MG Club
are hosting the 2009 Gathering o' the Clans which has become an annual
event
where all seven regional MG Owners Clubs from Scotland have a

19th/20th
September:
1) Saturday Run. This leaves the showground around 11.00 am on Saturday the 19th September. 2) Saturday Evening Meal. For those who wish, Helen and I will organise a local hotel to have a group-get-together. 3) Overnight Camping. This is free, and is normally in the field next to the showground. 4) Sunday Show. This is a huge show, with around about 1600 different entries, of all sorts, from vintage vehicles to steam engines, through even/ other sort of motor vehicle, with 60 or 70 different club stands. We would like you to arrive before 09.00, to allow time to set the display for the show opening at 10.00. The organisers like us to keep the display on show till at least 16.30. Edinburgh Club will provide a large marquee to shelter from the anticipated (and booked) sunshine. There is always a variety of food stalls and vans, and a huge auto jumble, with a possibility of a display in the centre arena if time permits. What we need from you:- Entrants Name and Hometown, and details of the car going :- Make, Model, Year, Registration, and colour, and which parts of the event you would like to participate ie. (1, 2, 3, and or 4.) Please reply, preferably by email, or to any of our addresses as in Enjoying MG, as soon as possible, and before 1st August, so that we can make the block booking with the organisers, to reserve one large space.
